Manchester County Inmate Records
Connecticut does not operate county sheriff jails for Manchester. Local arrests by Manchester Police or another agency move through booking, bond, court appearance, and, when a person is held under state supervision, the Connecticut Department of Correction. That makes the DOC inmate information system the main Manchester County inmate lookup channel. The Manchester Police Department remains relevant for police reports and arrest-record requests, but it is not a public county jail roster.
The DOC inmate information page states that current inmate information is made available as a public service and in the interest of public safety. It also warns that current incarceration does not necessarily mean conviction. Connecticut facilities may hold accused persons who are awaiting trial, so a custody result should be checked against court charges and dispositions when the difference matters.
The DOC updates inmate information daily, but status can change quickly. Youthful offenders and people held only for ICE are excluded from the public DOC inmate database. More detailed offender-information requests go to the DOC Office of Public Information by phone at 860-692-7780, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or by mail to 24 Wolcott Hill Road, Wethersfield, CT 06109.
The manifest capture from the Connecticut inmate information search shows the official custody lookup path for Manchester inmate records.
That statewide search is the proper starting point because Manchester does not publish a separate county jail booking list.
How to Search Manchester County Inmates
A good Manchester County inmate search starts with the DOC portal and then moves to the facility page. Do not assume that a Manchester arrest means the person is in Hartford Correctional Center, because DOC placement can vary by status, gender, security level, medical need, sentence, and bed assignment. Confirm the facility before visiting or sending funds.
- Open the Connecticut DOC inmate information search linked from official DOC pages.
- Search by full legal name, and use an inmate number when it is known.
- Review the result for facility, custody status, and identifying details.
- Open the facility page or call the facility before planning a visit.
- Check whether the inmate has active visiting privileges and whether the visitor is approved.
- Use court lookup or GA 12 records when the question is about charges, bond, plea, or disposition.
Local police and court records fill the gaps DOC does not cover. Manchester Police handles local report requests. GA 12 and the Judicial Branch case lookup track charges and court dates. DOC tracks current custody under state supervision.
Manchester County Inmate Search Fields
The research did not find a Manchester-only inmate form. The official DOC lookup is the search channel. Fields and result labels can shift on the live page, but the research identifies the practical data points users should have before searching.

What Manchester County Inmate Profiles Show
An inmate profile is a custody record, not a complete court record. It may help identify the person, facility, and current supervision status. It does not prove conviction. It also does not replace the Judicial Branch record for charges, pleas, docket events, or sentencing. Read custody data and court data together when the case stage matters.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Name or inmate identifier | Used for lookup and for account remitter information. |
| Date of birth | Required on Inmate Trust Fund remitter information and useful for identity checks. |
| Facility | Where DOC currently lists the person; confirm before visiting. |
| Custody status | Current DOC supervision or incarceration, not proof of conviction. |
| Facility address and phone | Contact point for visiting schedules and local rules. |
| Visiting eligibility | Whether approved visitors and active privileges are required before a visit. |
| Exclusions or redactions | Youthful offenders, ICE-only holds, and some safety-related data may be excluded. |
Manchester County Inmate Facilities
Manchester does not have a county jail facility in the research. The nearest major pretrial facility documented for Manchester custody work is Hartford Correctional Center. The research also identifies Robinson Correctional Institution and MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution as regional facilities useful for Manchester custody pages. Facility placement is a DOC decision, so search the current record before using a facility address.

Manchester County Booking Path
The booking and charge path begins with an arrest by Manchester Police or another agency. The person may be transported, processed, and given a bond decision or court appearance. If prosecution moves forward, charges enter the Judicial Branch criminal or motor-vehicle system. If the person is held under DOC supervision, custody status appears in DOC inmate lookup.
Use the right record for the right question. Manchester Police records help with arrest reports. GA 12 and statewide court lookup help with charges, dockets, bond, pleas, and disposition. DOC helps with current custody and facility. DMV records only matter when a motor-vehicle offense creates driver-history consequences.
Note: Manchester Police did not document an app-only inmate lookup in the official pages reviewed for this build.
Manchester County Inmate Visitation
DOC visitation is facility based. Visitors must be on the inmate's approved visiting list, and the inmate must have active visiting privileges. DOC states that visits are 30 minutes until further notice, visitors must show valid photo identification, cell phones and electronic devices are not permitted within correctional facilities, and non-contact visits are recorded. Visiting can be canceled for safety or security reasons.
| Facility | Address | Phone | Visit status / schedule note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hartford Correctional Center | 177 Weston Street, Hartford, CT 06120 | 959-200-3000 | Social in-person/video visits available; general population in-person visits are first come, first served. |
| Robinson Correctional Institution | 285 Shaker Road, POB 1400, Enfield, CT 06082 | 860-253-8000 | Social in-person/video visits available; evening in-person hours 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. effective February 18, 2025. |
| MacDougall-Walker CI | 1153 East Street, South Suffield, CT 06080 | 860-627-2100 / 860-292-3400 | Social in-person/video visits available; separate Walker and MacDougall schedules posted. |
Video visits use Microsoft Teams on a smartphone, laptop, or tablet with video and audio. They are free, but the visitor must have a valid email address, be on the approved list, and receive facility confirmation. Visitors should enter at least 15 minutes early for screening and verification.
Contacting Manchester County Inmates
DOC rules control inmate contact. For visiting, locate the inmate, confirm the facility, get on the approved list, and check the facility schedule. For video visits, do not treat remote access as a shortcut around approval. Minors may participate only with a parent or guardian and must not be a victim or have an active protective order with the inmate.
Facility staff record video visits, and visitors may not record with personal devices. Visitors must show valid identification before the visit. In-person visits allow no more than two visitors, including children. DOC also lists state-observed holidays when visits are not held, so holiday weeks require extra schedule checks.
The holiday list matters for Manchester County inmate contact because a planned visit can fail even when the inmate appears in the DOC lookup. DOC identifies New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Lincoln's Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day as no-visit holidays. Facility pages can also post safety or security cancellations, so visitors should check the assigned facility after each inmate search and before travel.
Approved contact also depends on the person in custody. An inmate may lose active visiting privileges, move to another facility, or have a housing status that changes the available visit type. A Manchester arrest record or court docket does not answer those facility questions. The DOC custody record and the facility schedule do.
Manchester County Inmate Funds
Inmate money uses DOC's Inmate Trust Fund, not Manchester Town Hall or a county sheriff cashier. Account information is available at 860-692-7670. It is no longer necessary to be on an inmate's visitor list to send funds. Accepted receipt methods include U.S. Mail, JPay electronic deposit, TouchPay electronic deposit at www.ctdoc.net, and Western Union corrections.
Mail payments must be money orders or certified/cashier's checks from accepted sources and must be payable to the inmate. Remitter information must include inmate first name, middle initial, last name, inmate number, date of birth, sender name, and sender full address. Do not include cards, letters, pictures, notes, or anything else with the check or money order. Mail payments go to Inmate Trust Fund, PO Box 290800, Wethersfield, CT 06129-0800.
